New York-based startup Signull Labs has raised north of $3.58 million in pre-seed funding to develop Skye, an “agentic homescreen” for the iPhone. An agentic homescreen is an artificial intelligence-driven interface for smartphones designed to perform tasks directly from the device’s main screen. The app uses iOS widgets as its interface to provide “ambient intelligence”—technology that provides personalized insights based on user context. According to its creator, Skye would offer insights about local weather, current context, and health.

The app, which is being built by a small team from the startup Signull Labs, has already attracted investor attention despite not yet having a public product. According to an SEC filing, the pre-seed funding round closed in September 2025. PitchBook lists the startup’s post-money valuation at $19.5 million. Signull Labs has secured backing from early investors, including Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), True Ventures, SV Angel, and Offline Ventures.

The startup was founded by Nirav Savjani, who operates under the pseudonym “signüll” on the social media platform X but is publicly identified by his legal name in SEC filings. Savjani, who has previously worked at Google and Meta, claims that the Skye app has already added tens of thousands of users to its waitlist. This metric, if accurate, suggests strong consumer interest in a more AI-aware iPhone. While the product is still in private testing, Savjani reports that the app plans to launch to its waitlist of users soon, though he declined to provide specific dates.

Through its widget interface, Skye is designed to draft email replies, assist with meeting preparation, send reminders, and flag suspicious charges in bank accounts. The app can also reportedly provide location-specific recommendations and additional information about local businesses, neighborhoods, and attractions while users are out and about, pulling data through authorized connections granted by the user.

Since announcing Skye, Savjani has appeared on the TBPN podcast as his avatar and has been posting on X about his use of the app. TechCrunch confirmed Savjani’s identity through SEC filings and other documents, despite the founder’s preference to protect his pseudonymity. TechCrunch declined to protect his pseudonymity because his name is listed publicly in the SEC filings establishing Signull Labs.

Why it matters

The development of an agentic homescreen that integrates directly into existing mobile operating systems signals potential consumer demand for more AI-aware mobile devices. By leveraging widgets rather than standalone applications, the startup is testing whether ambient intelligence can reshape how users interact daily with their smartphones.
