TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200 applications close June 8

The application window for the Startup Battlefield 200 competition officially closes on June 8, 11:59 p.m. PT, leaving founders with just three days to submit their entries. The program, which culminates at the TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 conference in San Francisco this October, will select 200 early-stage startups to showcase their technology to the global startup ecosystem. From this cohort, one winning startup will receive $100,000 in equity-free funding—meaning the company receives capital without being required to give up any ownership shares or equity to the organizers.

The competition has historically served as a launchpad for early-stage companies seeking global exposure. Alumni of the Startup Battlefield have collectively raised more than $32 billion in funding and achieved more than 250 exits. The program has helped launch companies such as Dropbox, Discord, Mint, Fitbit, and Trello. Additionally, alumni have subsequently been acquired by corporations including Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, Uber, and Amazon.

To qualify, TechCrunch is looking for early-stage startups that have a working Minimum Viable Product (MVP)—defined as a basic, functional version of a product used to test the market—and a vision capable of disrupting an industry. The competition is open to bootstrapped, pre-seed, and seed-stage startups, as well as select Series A startups in capital-intensive sectors.

The selected 200 startups will have the opportunity to pitch live on the Disrupt stage in San Francisco, gaining direct access to a global audience of investors, media, and potential partners. This setup is designed to help early-stage companies gain visibility and accelerate their growth. By participating, founders can put their companies directly in front of potential customers and future partners in one place.

Selected startups receive several direct benefits at the event, including:

  • A free exhibit table for all three days of the Disrupt conference.
  • Four complimentary passes to the event.
  • Branding and visibility inside the event’s mobile application.
  • Press exposure and lead-generation opportunities.
  • Access to masterclasses designed specifically for founders.
  • The opportunity to pitch live on the main stage.
  • Direct feedback from venture capitalists.
  • A chance to win the $100,000 equity-free prize.
