Lovable, an AI-powered app-building platform valued at $6.6 billion, is actively seeking to acquire startups and teams to expand its operations. On Monday, the company’s co-founder and CEO, Anton Osika, announced the acquisition strategy on X, stating that the company is looking for more teams and startups to join Lovable. Osika suggested that the opportunity would allow those working on interesting projects to continue to do so at scale. To facilitate this, he directed interested parties to reach out to the company’s M&A & Partnerships head, Théo Daniellot.

The acquisition push comes as Lovable navigates a competitive market. The startup faces competition from rival coding tools including Cursor, Replit, and Bolt. Furthermore, Elena Verna, Lovable’s head of growth, has reportedly noted that the company fears competition from larger artificial intelligence labs such as OpenAI and Anthropic. Despite these competitive pressures, Lovable has reported the following growth metrics:

  • Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR)—which represents the company’s annual recurring revenue—has reached $400 million, up from $200 million at the end of 2025.
  • Over 200,000 new vibe-coding projects—defined as AI-powered app-building projects—are created on the platform every day.

To support this expansion, Lovable is targeting specific team profiles. The company prioritizes builder-first, high-agency teams, including individuals with founder and operator backgrounds who move quickly, learn fast, and are motivated to turn ideas into real, working products. When there is strong alignment, Lovable likes to bring these teams in-house to lead key parts of its product.

This strategy builds on Lovable’s previous M&A activity. This would not be the first time the company has engaged in mergers and acquisitions, having previously acquired the cloud provider Molnett in November to grow its cloud infrastructure team. Osika highlighted that the startup’s internal environment is designed to help founder-types thrive, noting that many individuals in key roles at the company were founders immediately before joining. “We’ve built our culture in a way that makes founder-types thrive internally, being able to act autonomously and drive initiatives,” said Osika, the co-founder and CEO of Lovable.

Why it matters

Lovable is scaling its mergers and acquisitions efforts to bring in founder-types and builder-first teams. This strategy is intended to help the company compete against rival coding tools and major artificial intelligence labs.
